Private Training
Sometimes one-on-one time is exactly what you and your dog need! Private training gives you personalized coaching in a relaxed setting, perfect for dogs who learn best at their own pace or families who prefer a schedule that fits their routine.
This option is wonderful for dogs building confidence before group classes, or for anyone who'd love focused support tailored to their specific goals.
How Private Lessons Help
Private training gives you focused time to work on foundational skills and everyday manners at your own pace. Sessions are tailored to your goals and how your dog learns best.
Private skills training may include work on:
Loose leash walking for calmer, more enjoyable walks together
Recall on and off leash
Foundational cues like sit, down, stay, and place
Building focus around everyday distractions
Building confidence before joining group classes
Extra support for dogs who need a quieter learning environment
Private training is perfect for dogs who are comfortable working one-on-one and are ready to learn new skills in a relaxed setting.
How Private Training Differs from Group Classes
Both group classes and private training have great benefits—it really depends on what works best for you and your dog!
Group classes are a great way to practice skills around other dogs and people in a social learning environment. Private training offers a more personalized approach when one-on-one attention helps your dog thrive.
Private sessions give you:
Training that moves at your dog's pace
Sessions focused entirely on your priorities
Flexibility in where you train—at our facility, your home, or in the community
Extra coaching and detailed feedback tailored just for you
Some dogs do beautifully in groups right away, while others shine with individual attention first. We're happy to help you figure out which path feels right for your family!
Meet Your Certified Trainer
Nikki Nordick, CBCC-KA, CPDT-KA, CDBC, IAABC-ADT, FFCP, is a certified professional dog trainer with years of experience helping dogs and families build better communication. Her teaching is grounded in behavior science and learning theory—she understands how dogs learn, what helps them feel comfortable, and how to recognize when they're stressed or confused.
This background really matters in private training because effective coaching goes beyond teaching cues. It's about understanding why your dog might struggle to focus, how excitement or stress affects learning, and how to adjust your approach so progress feels steady and achievable. Nikki helps families avoid common frustrations, build skills thoughtfully, and create training that actually works in daily life—not just during sessions.
In private training, Nikki works closely with you to break skills down into clear, manageable steps. She'll explain what to practice, how to practice it, and how to recognize when adjustments are needed. This approach helps you feel confident working between sessions and using your new skills in real-world situations.
