Jr Puppy Class
Let’s Learn and Play!
Did you know puppies go through adolescence just like humans? During this stage, they often become more curious, more energetic, and more aware of their environment. That’s where Jr Puppy Class comes in!
This class is designed to help your Puppy Pal continue building good manners, develop better focus, and strengthen social skills as they grow. Every Jr Puppy Class is different and includes a mix of small, medium, and large puppies between 4 and 12 months of age.
How Jr Puppy Class is Different
Jr Puppy Class is for dogs between 4 and 12 months of age. As puppies grow, they become more curious, more energetic, and more aware of their surroundings. This class helps them build on early training and stay focused as the world becomes more exciting.
Each class includes:
Stay, lay down, and polite greetings
Loose leash walking and focus around distractions
Coming when called (recall)
Off-leash play with small, medium, and large size dogs
And more!
If you or your Puppy Pal are not comfortable with off-leash play in a mixed-size group, we recommend starting with Minding Our Manners or Private Training.

A: To join Jr Puppy Class, your Puppy Pal must be up to date on core vaccinations and have their Rabies vaccination.
Q: Will my puppy be grouped only with others of the same size?
A: Jr Puppy Class is based on age, not size. Classes include small, medium, and large dogs between 4 and 12 months of age, learning and playing together under the supervision of their humans and guided by the trainer.
Q: What if my dog can be reactive or aggressive around people or other dogs?
A: If your dog can be reactive or uncomfortable or assertive around other dogs or people, please schedule a Private Training phone call before registering.
Q: What is covered in Jr Puppy Class?
A: We focus on leash manners, listening around distractions, sit, spin, sit-stays, and more — all in a supportive group environment. What makes this class unique is the combination of on-leash training and off-leash group playtime.
If you’re looking for a class without off-leash play, check out our Minding Our Manners course.
Q: How many people can I bring to class?
A: Each Puppy Pal is welcome to bring up to two humans to class. Jr Handlers (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult.
Q: Do you offer drop off learn and play option?
A: Yes! We offer a Dog Daycare program for dogs over 16 weeks who have their Rabies vaccination. It’s a great way for dogs to continue practicing social skills in a structured, supervised environment.
What to Bring to Jr Puppy Class
To help your Puppy Pal have the best experience, please bring:
A flat collar or harness
A 4–6 foot leash (no retractable leashes)
Soft, high-value treats your puppy loves
A treat pouch or easy-access container
Each class includes a combination of on-leash practice and supervised off-leash play with small, medium, and large size dogs. A secure leash and easily accessible treats make it easier for you and your dog to stay connected during learning and social time.
We recommend choosing treats that your dog already loves and can chew quickly. If you're not sure what kind of treat pouch to use or need help choosing the right equipment, feel free to ask — we’re happy to offer suggestions.
